Fire cupping is a traditional Chinese medicine technique used to release muscle tension, promote circulation, and move stagnant energy. At Sacred Energy Acupuncture, it’s offered as both a stand-alone therapy and as an add-on to acupuncture treatments for deeper, faster relief.

How It Works

A flame is briefly introduced inside a glass cup to create gentle suction when placed on the skin. The vacuum lifts the tissue, drawing fresh blood flow to the area and releasing fascia, tight muscles, and trapped stagnation. This process helps the body clear toxins and reduces pain by improving the movement of Qi and blood.

Most patients describe the sensation as deeply soothing and grounding, with immediate relief in areas of tightness or soreness.

What to Expect

During your session, I use glass cups to gently lift the tissue and encourage circulation in areas of tightness or stagnation. Depending on your needs, the cups may stay in place for several minutes or glide along the skin using light oil for a dynamic approach.

Mild pink or red marks may appear where circulation has been stimulated, these are not bruises but a normal sign of improved blood flow and detoxification. Most patients leave feeling relaxed, lighter, and noticeably more open through the shoulders, back, and neck.
