Herbal consultations provide personalized support using Chinese patent herbal formulas selected based on your individual symptoms, health history, and current goals.

Herbal medicine has been used for centuries to support the body’s ability to restore balance and resilience. Rather than addressing symptoms in isolation, herbal consultations focus on understanding how your symptoms connect within the broader context of your health, lifestyle, and current phase of life.

During your consultation, time is spent listening closely to your experience and identifying patterns that may be contributing to imbalance. Based on this assessment, a Chinese patent herbal formula is selected to support your specific needs. Recommendations are practical, individualized, and designed to work alongside other therapies or medical care as part of a thoughtful, integrative approach.

  • Stress, anxiety, and nervous system support

  • Sleep disturbances and fatigue

  • Digestive concerns

  • Hormonal transitions including perimenopause and menopause

  • Pain, inflammation, and immune support

 

Herbal Formulas

  • All formulas prescribed are Chinese patent formulas

  • If the recommended formula is in stock, it may be dispensed at the time of service

  • If not in stock, the formula will be ordered and mailed to you

  • Herbal formulas are not included in the consultation fee and are priced separately

 

Appointment Options

  • In-Person: Consultation at the clinic; herbs provided same day when available

  • Phone Consultation: Conducted by phone; formulas will be mailed if prescribed

What to Expect

During your 30-minute consultation, we will:

  • Review your primary symptoms and concerns

  • Discuss relevant health history, lifestyle factors, and current medications or supplements

  • Identify underlying patterns of imbalance rather than addressing symptoms in isolation

  • Select an appropriate Chinese patent herbal formula to support your needs

Patent formulas are time-tested combinations traditionally used in Chinese medicine and chosen based on your presentation.

Important Notes

  • Herbal consultations do not include acupuncture treatment

  • Herbal support is complementary and not a substitute for medical care

  • Not all conditions are appropriate for herbal therapy

  • Full disclosure of medications and supplements is required for safety

Follow-Up & Refill Policy

Herbal formulas are prescribed based on your current symptoms, health history, and overall presentation at the time of consultation. Because patterns and needs may change, periodic reassessment is required to ensure safety and continued appropriateness.

Follow-Up Consultations

  • Follow-up herbal consultations are generally recommended every 4–6 weeks

  • Follow-ups allow for formula adjustments based on response, symptom changes, or tolerance

  • Follow-up visits are scheduled as a 30-minute herbal consultation at the standard rate

 

Refill Timing 

  • Herbal refills may be authorized within 60 days of the most recent herbal consultation without a full follow-up visit, provided:

    • Symptoms remain stable

    • There have been no changes in medications, supplements, diagnoses, or pregnancy status

    • The original formula remains clinically appropriate

  • Refill approval is at the practitioner’s discretion and may require a brief check-in or updated information

 

Refill Request Process

To request an herbal refill, please email bbrooks@sacredenergyacupuncture.com and include:

  • Full name

  • Date of your most recent herbal consultation

  • Name of the herbal formula

  • Current symptoms and any changes since your last visit

  • Confirmation that there have been no changes to medications, supplements, or health status

Refill requests are typically reviewed within 2–3 business days. If additional information or a follow-up consultation is needed, you will be notified before the refill is processed.

 

When a New Consultation Is Required

A new herbal consultation is required if:

  • More than 60 days have passed since the last herbal consultation

  • Symptoms have changed, worsened, or new symptoms have developed

  • There are changes in medications, supplements, pregnancy status, or medical diagnoses

  • Safety or clinical appropriateness needs to be reassessed

Dispensing & Shipping

  • Formulas may be dispensed in person when available

  • If not in stock, formulas will be ordered and mailed

  • Shipping fees may apply

 

Important Notes

  • Herbal formulas are not automatically refilled without review

  • If adverse reactions occur, discontinue use and notify the clinic promptly

  • Herbal therapy is complementary and coordinated with other care when appropriate
